Day 47 - 5/18/04
Skookumchuck, BC to Radium Hot Springs, BC
58 miles

My stuff:
Salt Lake City, UT to Lake Tahoe, CA

Today was a little tougher than I expected because I had a breeze in my face most of the way.  I think Columbia Lake, which I rode by today, is at the headwaters of the Columbia River.  Miniature golf and riding go-karts must be very popular in Canada, as I have passed a lot of these facilities while riding the last few days.  Of course, this is a country that thinks curling is a sport.  I ate dinner at the local Horsethief Creek Pub.  Up here it is typical for the smoking section to be walled off from the rest of the pub using large windows, so you can see the smokers but not hear them or get their smoke.  Also, both here and in Wyoming, the bars also double as liquor stores, so you can get a case of beer to go.

I'm entering Kootenay National Park Wednesday, may decide to camp.
