I stayed in Jasper for a day and had some much needed bike work
done. I think everything on the bike is fixed up and ready for
the final month or so. I took care of some errands, and I visited
the museum and learned quite a bit about the local history.
My stuff has been successfully unloaded from the truck and is awaiting my arrival.
Day 56 - 5/27/04
Jasper, AB to Grand Cache, AB
131 miles
A new personal maximum for total miles in a day. The day started
out pretty well: sunny, mostly downhill, wind at my back.
However, the clouds once again rolled in and I was drenched with about
4 hours of rain. Rather than camp in the rain I decided I'd just
keep plowing on until I came to a town with a hotel. With
daylight from about 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., I can start to crank up
the mileage.
