Day 59 - 5/30/04
Grande Prairie, AB to Dawson Creek, BC
84 miles

For the first time in what seems like months I had a completely pleasant day of riding:  no rain, no snow, no gale-force winds, and no mountain passes.  Today was spent riding on the low rolling hills of the plains.  I've moved into the Pacific Time Zone and I'm currently a few blocks from the official beginning of the Alaska Highway.  So, I know I have exactly 1523 miles to go to get to Fairbanks.  Dropped by the museum in Pouce Coupe (first word rhymes with moose, second pronounced "coopie") , where they had an interesting display on the whole building of the Alaska (also called the AlCan)  Highway.  For those not familiar with any of the story, it was built during WWII and was originally for military use.
