Day 67 - 6/07/04
Liard Hot Springs, BC to Iron Creek, Yukon
99 miles
Well, it rained about half the day, the scenery was not terribly
exciting, and the hills were relentless. I saw another black bear
today, full grown, and it once again hightailed it into the trees
before I could take a picture. I ran into another bicyclist
today, an older guy named Claude who was going from Whitehorse to
Montreal. This guy was well-equipped with all sorts of camping
and cooking equipment, and even a satellite signal beacon in case of
emergency. It was a lot of stuff, I think he's going to have
trouble in the mountains.
I stopped for the day at the Iron
Creek Lodge. Dinner was great followed by a helping of home made
bumbleberry pie. It redeemed what otherwise was not a very fun
day.
